Message From The President

Greetings,

We as a nation are dealing with challenges both old and new.  The pandemic Covid-19 has taken us into unexplored territory. The NAACP, an organization that has had its share of challenges, is still on the front line serving the people of this nation and the world.

As we enter the year 2021, we are experiencing many difficulties. Many of these difficulties are woven into the history of this nation. The specter of hate and injustice raises its head at an unprecedented level. One would think and hope that we would be in a better place at this time in our nation. However, that is not the case.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank New York State Conference Leader, Dr. Hazel N. Dukes, our National Board and President Derrick Johnson, for their leadership.

I would also like to thank our branch members for the work they do everyday. The officers and members of the Corona-East Elmhurst Branch are always doing the work of the NAACP by addressing issues of the community.

To better serve our community, we have launched this website with the hope of extending our reach. Social Media is a pathway to our young people and to those that are unable to be with us in person. We will be providing information that will be informative and helpful in understanding the goals of our organization.

Last, but not least, membership is the life blood of our organization. We invite you to become a member of our branch or a branch where you live. Join today.

Go to our national website for information regarding the many programs and services offered.
