February is African American History month. During February we celebrate the contributions that Americans of African Descent have made to American History. Charles R. Drew 06/03/1904-04/01/1950 was an American surgeon and medical researcher. He researched in the field of blood transfusion developing improved techniques for blood storage and applied his expert knowledge to developing large scale blood banks early in World War II.

At this month’s meeting we will view the film of “DEFINING MOMENTS” the Civil Rights Movement in North Hempstead.
